I love the story of this.

When Nicholas and Alexandra met in 1884 at the wedding of his uncle to her sister, she called him Nicky; he called her “Alix” or “Sunny.” Although Alix was only 12, she knew at that moment that Nicky was “The One.” It was on this occasion she carved their names on the window of the Peterhof Palace.

Nicky wrote in his journal, “Alix and I wrote our names on the rear window” of a nearby house.

He added at the end, “We love each other.”

Every year they returned to Peterhof, the dates were transcribed on that very same window. It remains to this day.

Quand Nicolas et Alexandra sont réunis en 1884 au mariage de son oncle à sa sœur, elle l'a appelé Nicky; il a appelé son «Alix» ou «Sunny».

Alix avait seulement 12 ans, elle savait à ce moment que Nicky était "The One". Il est à cette occasion qu'elle sculpté leurs noms sur la fenêtre du Palais Peterhof.
Nicky a écrit dans son journal, "Alix et moi avons écrit nos NOMS sur la vitre de la maison Peterhof.
Il a ajouté, à la fin, "Nous nous aimons."

Chaque année, ils sont retournés à Peterhof, les dates ont été transcrits sur cette même fenêtre.

Ces écritures sont toujours là, à ce jour.....
