Les vacances de famille vers la Crimée et leurs croisières sur le Standart étaient un changement bienvenu pour les enfants en particulier.
En raison de sa maladie, un marin de favori a été affecté à la montre au-dessus d'Alexis. Au début c'était le marin Derevenko qui pendant un certain temps était patient et consciencieux dans l'observation au-dessus de sa charge impériale ; son comportement vers Alexis, cependant, est devenu excessivement moyen au début de la révolution.

Heureusement, le Tsarevich a également eu un autre marin-préposé--le Nagorny fidèle. Ce marin plus tard a été tué par l'armée révolutionnaire qui a débordé la Russie après la Première Guerre Mondiale.

Dans les lettres qu'elle a écrites au Tsar quand il était aux sièges sociaux généraux, le Tsarina mentionne fréquemment Sablin.
Plus d'une personnalité royale était bienvenue à bord du Standart, y compris la Reine Alexandra, soeur de l'impératrice Marie de douairière, accompagnée de son mari,
le Roi Edouard VII, le Roi Gustav de la Suède et Kaiser Wilhelm II de l'Allemagne.
