A SUPERB antique Russian gold mounted amazonite small box by the firm of Bolin, jeweler of the Imperial Court, made in Moscow between 1899 and 1908, workmaster Ivan Antonovich Flink.

 

Height 1 3/4 in. (4,2 cm).

This particular box is illustrated in the exhibition catalog W.A. Bolin Court Jeweller, page 187, Nr. 151.

 

The Bolin exhibition took place at the Moscow Kremlin Museum in 2001.

 

 

 

 

 

The body is carved from a single piece of amazonite and applied with stylized finely chased gold trees in Art Nouveau taste. The gold trees are set with tiny rubies and rose-cut diamonds.
